Elissaveta
Iordanova has more than 25 years of experience and professional and artistic
recognition from Europe and USA. She is a Fulbright scholar and
a recipient of the Bulgarian National Center for Music and Dance
Award for her innovative approach in presenting traditional art
in contemporary context. She has been touring as a professional
dancer and creating works in the fields of Bulgarian folk dance,
theater and contemporary dance arts. Her international
credentials include Austria, France, Germany, Netherlands, Malta
and Romania, as well as USA and Bulgaria.
Elissaveta Iordanova is
an independent choreographer and currently works as a teaching artist for
Joyce Theater, NYCity Center, Ballet arts Center for Dance and Lotus Music and Dance in New
York. As an expert in Bulgarian folk dance, she conducts
classes, workshops and performs together with her company “Elea Gorana Dance Collective”.Her choreography has
been presented at Dumbo Dance Festival, Green Space Blooms Dance Festival, Merce Cunningham Studio, Movement Research, Danspace
Project, The Field,
City Center, Green Space, Lotus Music and Dance, Fringe
Festival, French Festival, all in New York. Her creativityis inspired by Bulgarian national heritage and folk
traditions, which she blends and interoperates in contemporary
style of works.
